Rick Hayes Instruments began in 2006 with Rick seeing if he could build an F-style mandolin. He could! He went on to build a series of mandolins and acoustic dreadnought guitars for some bluegrass greats – including Shawn Lane, Clay Hess, Ron Block, Randy Kohrs, Ira Dean, Jeff Parker, Dan Tyminski, and Justin Moses – as well as many other fans of his work.

As the rigors of building acoustic instruments has taken a bit of a toll, Rick has put his passion into building, repairing, and modifying mostly electric guitars.
